Google Desktop Search is a program that functions exactly the same as the ultra famous search engine Google, but to locate files you want to find on your own machine, on the hard disc.

With a totally familiar interface which is practically identical to the internet search engine, Google Desktop Search will do searches from your browser and will display the results. And to make it even more complete, the data base will be updated when you update the content of your computer, in other words, when you receive new email, with web pages you've visited, etc.

Google Desktop Search is also totally customizable. You can decide what you want on your sidebar, if you want weather, or news, or your email as it arrives (for this option you need a Gmail account).
